Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to record a downward trend in new COVID-19 cases for the fourth consecutive day on Monday with the state reporting 1,904 fresh cases overnight, the government informed on Tuesday.
The number of new cases was 2,196 on Friday, 2,019 on Saturday and 1,982 on Sunday.
Among the 1,904 new cases detected on Monday, 1,115 are in quarantine and 789 are local contacts.
Among the districts, Khurda led the tally with 221 new cases, followed by Nuapada (128), Cuttack (111), Angul (109), Kendrapada (106), Sundargarh (100), Mayurbhanj (93), Balasore (90), Kalahandi (76), Jagatsinghpur (73), Sonepur (73), Balangir (66), Keonjhar (56), Jharsuguda (51), Dhenkanal (50), Jajpur (49), Puri (49), Sambalpur ( 44), Nabarangpur (43), Ganjam (39), Koraput (36), Bargarh (35), Nayagarh (32), Malkangiri (30), Boudh (24), Deogarh (21), Bhadrak (19), Kandhamal (18), Rayagada (17) and Gajapati (2).
Besides, the state pool has 43 cases.
At present, Odisha’s cumulative case tally stands at 2,72,250. This includes 21,454 active cases and 2,49,575 recoveries.
