Puri: Amid the rising COVID-19 cases, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to identify servitors and their families, especially the elderly with serious ailments, for medical screening and treatment.
Following a meeting, which was presided by Collector Balwant Singh, all the Nijogs of Jagannath Temple in Puri have been asked to help the administration in the identification process.
A number of servitors have also been infected.
The SJTA has also set up its own COVID Care Centre (CCC) for servitors and temple officials at hotel New Rock Bay on CT Road in Puri. It has tied up with the Panthanivas for the supply of food to all patients.
The COVID-19 positive patients will be shifted to the venue in an ambulance under the responsibility of appointed medical personnel and treated by doctors visiting the CCC, an official notification said.
