Bhubaneswar: There was a marginal fall in new COVID cases in the capital city for second day on Tuesday when 233 people tested positive for the disease compared to 286 on Monday and 371 on Sunday.
Of the new cases registered in the last 24 hours, 55 were from quarantine and 178 local contacts, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Of the local contact cases, maximum 18 were reported from Patrapada, followed by 13 from Chandrasekharpur, 10 from Nayapalli and 9 from Tankapani Road.
As many as 180 patients recovered from the disease during the period while the number of deceased touched 779. The city now has 2065 active cases.
