Bhubaneswar: Khimji Jewellers, a leading jewellery chain of Odisha, has forayed into the Silk City of Berhampur with the opening of a grand showroom at Sana Bazaar.
Spread across 7,500 square feet, the beautifully-done showroom has a wide range of diamond and silver jewellery besides, corporate gifting items, exclusive watches of international brands and a large variety of BIS-certified gold jewellery.
Director of Khimji Jewellers Mitesh Khimji said, “With the opening of Khimji Jewellers in Berhampur, we have made our maiden entry into the southern Odisha jewellery market. This would be the largest showroom of exquisite jewellery products in the city having the biggest collection of gold, diamonds, silver jewellery and watches under one roof.”
Every piece of gold jewellery sold from this outlet would be 100 per cent BIS Hallmarked and all diamond jewellery items would be 100 per cent IGI certified. As a step forward towards transparency, Mitesh said, the making charges at Khimji Jewellers are not linked to gold price and not calculated as a percentage of gold price. On the contrary, charging of wastage (or VA), which is a percentage of gold price, as making charge is a practice quite prevalent now-a-days with many jewellers, he said.
Mitesh said historically gold prices have always gone up so whenever there is a price rise, the VA or wastage also rises. “However, at Khimji Jewellers, we follow the system of fixed making charge per gram which is not linked to the gold price. So when gold price rises our making charge remains stable,” he said.
As an inaugural offer in wake of opening of the new showroom, Khimji Jewellers announced a flat 30 per cent discount on making charges of gold jewellery, flat 20 per cent off on diamonds and up to 20 per cent off on watches for its customers.
