Washington: A statue depicting US President Donald Trump and deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein recreating the famous “I’m the king of the world” scene from the 1997 film ‘Titanic’ placed on the National Mall near the US Capitol has had tourists snapping selfies faster than a sinking ship takes on water.
Titled “King of the World”, the oversized sculpture recreates the famous Titanic scene from the 1997 blockbuster, with President Trump and the late Jeffrey Epstein striking that triumphant pose at the ship’s bow. A plaque at the base delivers the punchline: “The tragic love story between Jack and Rose was built on luxurious travel, raucous parties and secret nude sketches. This monument honors the bond between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein.”
The installation sits cheek-by-jowl with banners flashing photos of the pair alongside the slogan “Make America Safe Again” — a twist that has protesters and passersby doing double-takes.
It’s the handiwork of Secret Handshake, an anonymous collective credited by The New Republic for similar stunts. Last September, they planted a Trump-Epstein hand-holding statue in front of the Capitol, which was removed pronto. Their portfolio also boasts a poop effigy slamming January 6 rioters and a giant mock-up of Trump’s alleged birthday note to Epstein.
The timing couldn’t be more dramatic: Trump’s Epstein links are back in the spotlight since the Department of Justice dropped files under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, inked in November. This month’s batch names the 79-year-old president, including three FBI memos from a woman alleging sexual assault.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed the charges as “completely baseless” and “backed by zero credible evidence.”
Democrats are clamoring for Trump to face the House Oversight Committee, which has grilled Bill and Hillary Clinton plus Epstein pal Les Wexner. Republicans counter that the president’s been fully cleared.
Meanwhile, the statue’s fate — whether it sails on or strikes an iceberg like its predecessors — hangs in the balance.
