Balangir: An unidentified woman allegedly stole a newborn baby from a government hospital in Patnagarh village of Balangir district on Wednesday.
Sources said a woman from Telenpali delivered a baby boy at the hospital on Sunday and was there since then. On Wednesday, an unidentified woman came and lifted the baby, gave the mother a Rs 100 note and told her the baby was very beautiful. Then suddenly, the unidentified woman fled with the baby.

The newborn’s father Rudramani lodged a complaint in this regard at Patnagarh hospital.
The hospital authorities are investigating the matter with the help of CCTV cameras installed on the hospital premises.
