Bhubaneswar: A abandoned newborn baby girl was rescued after a secluded place near Prasanti Vihar here on Saturday.
According to sources, the locals heard the infant crying and alerted the police about it.
The newborn has been admitted to a private hospital here. The health of the baby is critical due to exposure to severe cold, sources said.
Police have started investigation and efforts are on to identify the person who abandoned her.
