Newly-Wed Woman Commits Suicide In Balasore

Balasore: A newly-wed woman allegedly committed suicide at her in-law’s place at Malanga village under Bahanaga block in Balasore district on Wednesday night.

She was identified as Geetanjali Mishra.

Family members of the deceased, however, alleged that their daughter was killed by her in-laws.

Three months ago, Mrutunjaya Padhi of Malanga village had married Geetanjali, daughter of Balarama Mishra of Paikasta village.

She was found hanging at her in-law’s house on Wednesday night and was immediately rushed to Gopalpur Community Health Centre, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Following her death, the woman’s family members thrashed her husband black and blue on the hospital premises.

On being informed, Kantapada police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

The deceased’s husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law were later arrested and forwarded to court.
