Chennai: Newly-wed Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna created a buzz when they visited the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams to seek the blessings from Lord Venkateswara on Sunday.
The celebrity couple, having tied the knot three days ago in a private ceremony attended by families and close friends at a resort near Udaipur,
greeted fans and devotees, and also distributed sweets at the temple.
Several videos shared online show Vijay helping wife Rashmika navigate through the crowd safely. Rashmika, wearing a green-and-gold saree, paired with traditional jewellery and minimal makeup, was all smiles as she waved at enthusiastic onlookers.
Vijay, who wore a white kurta and a red shawl, also looked happy.
Vijay’s brother Anand Deverakonda accompanied the newlyweds during their visit to the temple.

As videos went viral, several fans at the temple expressed their excitement online.
“While they graciously acknowledged the love and warm wishes by thanking them, the couple politely declined photo requests and made their way through the crowd,” one netizen wrote on X.
Fans also appreciated the couple’s gesture of distributing sweets to those who had assembled there and greeted them.
Even as they visited Tirupati temple to start their married journey, the couple arranged thousands of sweet boxes to be distributed in 23 Indian cities including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad in a novel gesture.
The sweets, handed out from decorated trucks by teams in custom ‘V & R’ attire, are specially packaged to mark the occasion.
Each sweet box has a QR code so that recipients can scan and send their blessings to the couple, thereby making them a part of the celebrations.
Alongside distribution of sweets, Annadanam, or sacred food offerings, were organised at various temples across the country. The initiative is intended to seek fans’ and well-wishers’ blessings, and give back to the community.
