NIA Books Khalistani Terrorist Over Video Threatening Air India Passengers
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case against Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu.
NIA said in a statement on Monday that Pannun — founder of pro-Khalistan group Sikhs For Justice — has been booked under sections 120B, 153A & 506 of Indian Penal Code and sections 10, 13, 16, 17, 18, 18B & 20 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
According to NIA, Pannun had been creating a false narrative around issues prevailing in Punjab — with regard to Sikh religion — by fanning enmity between Sikhs in India and other communities.
Pannun, in a video released on November 4, urged Sikhs not to take Air India flights on and after November 19 as there could be threat to their lives.
He also warned India that Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) would be closed on of November 19, day of the ICC World Cup final.
