Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday informed that night curfew will continue from 9 pm to 5 am in the state for the month of August.
Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) P K Jena said that weekend shutdown will be imposed in four districts of Ganjam, Khurda, Gajapati, Cuttack and Rourkela Municipal Corporation till August 31.
On August 1 and 2, the shutdown will be enforced from 1 pm to 9 pm. All shops and activities can continue from 5 am to 1 pm, he said.
The SRC further said that lockdown in containment zones has been extended till August 31.
Religious institutions, cinema halls and theatres will remain closed for the public till August 31. There will be no teaching activities in schools and colleges.
Jena said that gyms will be allowed to open in the state from August 5. There will be no restrictions on inter-state movement of goods.
Collectors and municipal commissioners are empowered to impose extra restrictions if needed based on the local situation, he added.
