Bhubaneswar: With cold wave conditions sweeping Odisha, the night temperature plummeted further to 4 degree Celsius at G Udayagiri in the last 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Monday.
The hill station in Kandhama had recorded 4.8 degree Celsius the previous day.
Eight more places in the state recorded sub-10 degree Celsius. Semiliguda was close second at 4.9 degree Celsius, followed by Phulbani (7), Rourkela (7.2), Jharsuguda (7.7), Daringbadi (9), Kirei in Sundargarh (9.3), Chiplima in Sambalpur (9.8) and Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi (9.9).
Semiliguda, Rourkela, Jharsuguda and Phulbani saw 2.3, 2, 1.3 and 1 degrees drop in the mercury since previous night.
Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 13.2 degree Celsius and 13.5 degree Celsius respectively, as against 13.8 degree Celsius and 14 degree Celsius on January 19.
The weather agency has predicted that there will be no large change in the night temperature during the next 4 days in the state.
