Bhubaneswar: Dense fog is likely to engulf several parts of Odisha during the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday.
Issuing yellow warning for two days, the IMD said dense fog is likely to occur at one or two places of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Khurda, and Cuttack districts on January 25 and 26.
In a weather bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said shallow to moderate fog is expected to occur during early morning hours at a few places of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Khurda, Cuttack and at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi and Kandhamal on January 25.
Similarly, shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur during early morning hours at a few places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, Khurda, Cuttack and at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi and Kandhamal on January 26.
The weather agency predicted a dry spell over Odisha, with no significant rainfall activity expected till January 30. Going by the weather forecast, the state will experience a prolonged period of dry weather, with clear skies and no precipitation.
Minimum temperature (night temperature) is likely to rise by 2 to 4 degree Celsius in the state during next three days. There will be no large change in temperature during subsequent two days, it said.
