Bhubaneswar: While several places in Odisha saw a slight increase in the night temperature in the last 24 hours, the mercury is likely to plummet again by 3 to 4 degree Celsius after two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Monday.
“No large change in minimum temperature during the next 2 days and very likely to fall by 3 to 4 degree Celsius thereafter at many places in Odisha,” it said.
According to the midday bulletin, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal are likely to experience light to moderate rain during the next 24 hours. Thundershowers may occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nabarangapur on November 22 while dry weather will prevail in the remaining part of the state.
Bhubaneswar is likely to see a partly cloudy sky and the minimum temperature is likely to hover around 19 degree Celsius.
Notably, 10 places in Odisha recorded temperature below 15 degree Celsius the previous night with Kirei coldest at 9.5 degree Celsius.

Meanwhile, the depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal moved northwestwards with a speed of 12 kmph during the past 6 hours and lay centred about 520 km northeast of Jaffna (Sri Lanka), 470 km east-northeast of Karaikal, 550 km southeast of Machilipatnam and 420 km east-southeast of Chennai at 8.30 am. “It is likely to move northwestwards till November 21 evening and then west-northwestwards maintaining the same intensity till midnight. Thereafter, it would continue to move west¬northwestwards towards south Andhra Pradesh-North Tamilnadu Puducherry coasts and weaken gradually into a well-marked low-pressure area around November 22 morning,” the MeT office added.
