Rayagada: Nine persons, who were convicted in a murder that took place two years back, were awarded life imprisonment by the District and Sessions Judge, Soma Sekhar Jena on Tuesday.
Those convicted are Bali Majhi, Santosh Majhi, Patidi Majhi, Nari Majhi, Kusha Majhi, Krushna Majhi, Sada Majhi, Salu Majhi and Kabi Majhi of Podakana village under Tikiri police station limits.
On November 30, 2017, they called out the victim, Chhelia Majhi from his home and took him to the nearby Kadigarada forest and hacked him to death. The crime was committed over a property dispute.
