Berhampur: National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) celebrated National Science Day on Tuesday in collaboration with Rotary Club Berhampur and supported by SERB DST.
Around 500 students from different institutes participated in the National Science Day celebrations of National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) here on Tuesday.
The event, organised in collaboration with Rotary Club Berhampur and supported by SERB DST, was inaugurated by Founder Chairman Dr Sukant K Mahapatro via online mode.
Principal Dr Priyadarshi Tripathy delivered the opening address, while Sayad Suleman Ali welcomed the dignitaries.
Khallikote University Vice-Chancellor Dr Prafulla Kumar Mohanty was chief guest and eminent science writer Dr Nikhilananda Panigrahy chief speaker. Retired professor of Berhampur University Dr Gouri Shankar Tripathy and Rotary Club Berhampur secretary Sarthak were guests of honour.
The inaugural session was followed by a quiz competition before different clubs showcased their activities based on innovation and research.
