Bhubaneswar: Four educational institutes of Odisha have found a place among the top 100 institutes in the country in the ‘overall category’ in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
National Institute of Technology (NIT) has emerged as the top institute in the state in the NIRF 2020 report, released by Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Thursday.
While NIT Rourkela ranks 32, Siksha `O` Anusandhan and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology are placed at the 38th and 44th rank respectively.Besides, IIT Bhubaneswar has been placed at the 56th rank.
The top institutes in India in the ‘overall category’ are IIT Madras, IISc Bengaluru and IIT Delhi.
In the ranking among engineering institutes, five from Odisha have made it to the top 100 with NIT- Rourkela ranked 16, IIT Bhubaneswar (22), SOA (34) and KIIT (42). Bhubaneswar-based C V Raman College of Engineering (now C V Raman Global University) has been ranked 93 among the engineering institutes.
In the university category, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru topped the chart followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
