Cuttack: The National Law University Odisha (NLUO) here has launched a course on bonded labour to help students develop a proper perspective about this social scourge and understand the legal recourses available to deter it.
This will be a special credit-course which will introduce students to…
-Supreme Court judgments on bonded labour.
-Engage in discussions about rights and justice on labour laws.
-Develop a deeper understanding of the role of the judiciary in bonded labour cases and outcome of trails.
“At the university, we have always strived to motivate the students to cater to the unmet legal needs of the marginalised communities and help them gain access to justice. This special course will not only infuse empathy and solidarity among our students but also provide them with an opportunity to understand and learn how the law works,” Vice-Chancellor Srikrishna Deva Rao said.
