No Cash Payment For Vehicle Related Services At RTO Counters In Odisha From This Date

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Thursday said no cash payment will be accepted at counters in the offices of the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) from January 11.

“As part of the 5T initiative of the government to improve the user experience, it is decided that all transactions relating to government revenue and service charges of the concessionaire in VAHAN portal for vehicle-related services will be made online and URL mode only with effect from January 11, 2021, and no cash will be accepted at RTO counters for vehicle-related services at all RTOs of the state,” the State Transport Authority (STA) of the Commerce and Transport Department said a tweet.

The users are already making payment related to driving licence services in SARATHI portal in online mode with since March 16 last year.

The STA said the vehicle owners can avail all vehicle-related services like payment of tax and fee, uploading document, submitting application and taking the printout of permits, fitness and tax/fee receipts by visiting https://parivahan.gov.in.

It will not only reduce the long queue in the RTO office counters for making payments but also help preventing spread of COVID-19.
