No Disbursement Of Subhadra Money On Dec 25, Odisha Deputy CM Advices Eligible Beneficiaries To…

Bhubaneswar: The 4th phase transfer of 1st instalment of Subhadra Yojana has been postponed as the verification process is still underway, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed on Monday.

The Odisha government had announced to release the amount on December 25.

“I appeal to the beneficiaries to get themselves verified through e-KYC and biometric. This is the last chance for them. In this phase, over 20 lakh beneficiaries will get the financial assistance,” she said.

Parida, who holds the Women and Child Welfare Development portfolio, mentioned about 5.11 lakh applicants, who are yet to complete their e-KYC or have done so through OTP. “They need to complete this through biometric process to get enrolled under the scheme. The e-KYC will be done at Common Services Centres (CSCs/Mo Seva Kendras (MSKs). The applicants, who have not completed their e-KYC, will be called upon asking them to complete the step through biometric process. They need to complete e-KYC by personally visiting the CSCs/MSKs along with their Aadhar number/acknowledgement receipt. After completion of e-KYC through biometric process, they need to visit their bank and make their Aadhar-linked bank account DBT enable,” she said.

She added that e-KYC through biometric will be done free of cost.

Regarding rejection of applications over wrong representation of owning 5 acre land, she suggested the eligible beneficiaries to submit their grievances on Subhadra portal or with the block committee.

The Deputy CM also informed about action taken against CSCs for violating Subhadra Yojana norms. “As many as 52 CSCs have been blacklisted for negligence in duty and police complaints filed against 14 CSCs for allegedly receiving money from applicants for Subhadra Yojana,” she further stated.

Last month, Parida told media that those eligible under Subhadra Yojana can submit their applications till March 7, 2025, for the first instalment of Rs 5,000. The second instalment of the women empowerment scheme will be disbursed on International Women’s Day on March 8 next year, she added.

Over 80.45 lakh women beneficiaries have received financial assistance under the scheme so far.

The third phase of first instalment money was released to 20 lakh women beneficiaries on November 24. The state government had earlier disbursed Rs 5,000 each to about 60 lakh beneficiaries in two phases. While around 25 lakh women received the money in the first phase when Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the scheme on September 17, the amount was credited to bank accounts of beneficiaries in the second phase on October 9.

The government aims to cover over 1 crore women under the scheme.

Under the scheme, all eligible beneficiaries aged 21 to 60 years will receive Rs 50,000 over five years, from 2024-25 to 2028-29. Beneficiaries will get Rs 10,000 annually in two equal instalments, credited directly to their Aadhaar-enabled, DBT-linked bank accounts.
