Mayurbhanj: Demanding electricity in the village, people of Nandursahi under Kaptipada block in Mayurbhanj district have threatened to boycott the polls, which will be held on April 29.
The villagers alleged that they have been waiting for electricity supply to their village since long. Students are still studying with the help of earthen lamps in the village as leaders have not fulfilled their promise of giving electricity connections.
Ironically, the government recently distributed bulbs to the villagers.
They have also threatened that they will not allow any political leader to campaign in the village.
Meanwhile, North Eastern Electricity Supply Company of Odisha Limited (NESCO) officials requested the villagers to cast their votes, as the electrification work has already been started in the village.
