New Delhi: Big Western brands have stopped business with Russia following its invasion of Ukraine, from McDonald’s and Coca-Cola to Amazon and Netflix.
In fact, Russia is officially the most sanctioned country in the world, overtaking Iran, Syria and North Korea.
The country is now reeling under over 5,000 sanctions, 2,778 of them introduced after February 22.
Russia now faces more sanctions than Iran, Venezuela, Myanmar and Cuba combined.
In comparison, Iran faces 3,616 sanctions, Syria 2,608 and North Korea 2,077.
On Tuesday, the US also imposed an immediate ban on Russian oil imports.
