Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Dash on Tuesday announced that a student who flunks the Plus II first-year exam will not be promoted to the second year.
Speaking to the media, the Minister said, “The first-year students will not be promoted to the second year if they score less than 33 per cent marks in the annual examination.”
However, they will get a chance to clear the backlogs.
“If someone fails to secure the required mark in the annual examination from February 15 to 29, remedial classes would be conducted for them and they will be allowed to sit for exam again in May-end,” he said.
The first-year examination was so far considered a mock test and a student had to just appear in it to qualify for the second year.
