Berhampur: The Ganjam administration has issued a notification, prohibiting all kinds of public gatherings and social celebrations during Raja festival till June 16.
“Any kind of congregation including gatherings for celebrations like Raja Doli/Mela/Mahostav/ Feasts and traditional games from 11.06.2020 to 16.06.2020 in the district is strictly prohibited. Sponsoring organizations for these type of gatherings should also be strictly discouraged,” the notification issued by Ganjam Collector’s office said.
All essential shops can operate from 7 am to 7 pm while those selling non-essential items will be allowed to remain open from 7 am to 2 pm during this period.
“Action will be taken any person violating these guidelines under the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Managemen Act 205, the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897, besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC and other legal provisions as applicable.,” it added.
