Mumbai: International air travellers from the UK, Europe, Middle East, South Africa and Brazil are no longer required to undergo mandatory institutional quarantine upon arrival here, if they have been vaccinated.
In order to be exempted from quarantine, one has to have received both shots of COVID-19 vaccine, according to an order of Bombay Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Apart from this, passengers above 65 years of age, women in advanced stage of pregnancy, both parents accompanying children aged below five, medical professionals travelling to attend critical patients and those with serious illness requiring medical attention are also exempted from quarantine.
Earlier, passengers coming in international flights from abroad had to be quarantined for 7 days irrespective of their COVID-19 negative report.
Other than these, everyone else will have to undergo mandatory institutional quarantine for seven days followed by seven days of home quarantine.
