No Restrictions On Media To CM’s Programmes, Says Odisha Minister
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday said there were no restrictions on entry of media to any of the chief minister’s programmes in the state.
Replying to a question of Umerkote MLA Nityanand Gond in the Assembly, Information and Public Relation Minister Pradip Amat said his department was unaware of any restrictions on media during the chief minister’s programmes.
“The department, which organises the chief minister’s programme, issues the invitations to the media. The I&PR department is not aware of any ban or restrictions on entry of media to the chief minister’s programmes,” the minister said.
In his question, the MLA had asked why the government was preventing the reporters and photo journalists from attending the events where the chief minister was the guest. “If the I&PR department can send photos and video recordings of the CM’s programmes to all, why cannot it send the invitations?” he asked.
On the Gond’s question what did the government intend to hide from the media by not inviting them, the minister said there was no truth in the allegation and the government was not trying to hide any information.
