No Threat To Hinduism In India, Says Amit Shah’s Ministry
New Delhi: Threats to Hinduism in the country are imaginary, the Central government has said.
More surprisingly, the disclaimer came from the Union Home Ministry under Amit Shah.
The ministry further stated that it has no record or evidence of any so-called threats to the Hindu religion.
The ministry was replying to an RTI application filed on August 31 by Nagpur-based activist Mohnish Jabalpure. He had asked the ministry to furnish proof of the threats to the Hindu religion in the country.
In his response, the ministry’s CPIO (Internal Security), VS Rana, said according to the RTI Act, the Public Information Officer can only provide information that is available with them or which falls under their jurisdiction.
The official added that it was not possible to satisfy the “hypothetical” query of Jabalpure, adding it was treated as null and void.
