Angul: In view of the rising COVID-19 cases, all weekly haats/markets will remain closed in Odisha’s Angul district till August 31.
The decision was taken for ensuring social distancing so as to prevent the spread of the virus, an official order issued by the district administration said.
This apart, all shops in the district will be allowed to remain open only from 7 am to 2 pm from Monday to Friday. The shopkeepers have been warned of action if they fail to main the social distancing norms.
“The shopkeepers who fail to maintain social distancing, the said shops shall be sealed by the authority,” the order added.
Angul has so far reported 330 COVID-19 cases and 98 among them are active with 230 patients having recovered from the infection. The virus has claimed two lives in the district.
