Cuttack: The government has sent show-cause notices to 82 high schools in Odisha for scoring zero results in the annual Matric examination this year. The school and mass education minister, Samir Ranjan Dash, on Thursday said that he will personally review the matter.
During a courtesy visit to the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) headquarters here, Dash told media persons that he would visit these schools very soon to know about their infrastructure, the number of students there and the mode of teaching. “I will also interact with the locals to know the reasons for the poor performance of these schools,” he added.
Asked about the gradual rise in the number of schools having zero results and the fall in the pass rate, the minister said he has started discussing the issue with well-known academicians.
“The biggest concern is that the parents and guardians are losing trust in government high schools, which is a major challenge for us,” he pointed out.
