New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday issued a gazette notification for the 4th phase of general elections on May 13, when Odisha will also vote for its Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha candidates.
This phase will witness polling for 96 Lok Sabha seats across 10 states, including Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jammu and Kashmir. Voting booths will be open from 7 am to 6 pm.
Candidates in these states can file nominations till April 25. Scrutinization of nomination papers will be held on April 26 while the last date for withdrawal of nominations is April 29, according to the notification.
This will be the first phase election in Odisha and voting will take place in four Lok Sabha constituencies (Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput, and Berhampur) and 28 Assembly seats.
Voting in second, third and fourth phases in the state will be held on May 20, May 25 and June 1, respectively.
Odisha will vote simultaneously to elect 21 Lok Sabha members in the 18th parliamentary elections and 147 MLAs. The results will be announced on June 4.
