Bhanjanagar: Police on Friday nabbed a notorious criminal, who was allegedly involved in a series bomb blast in Bhanjanagar market on February 7.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Imran, sustained bullet injuries in the encounter. Three police personnel were also injured.
According to sources, the police intercepted Imran and his associates at around 6 am and there was an exchange of fire. In a bid to escape, the criminals hurled bombs at police.
Though Imran was hit on both legs, his associates managed to flee.
He was initially admitted to Bhanjanagar CHC and later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur after his condition deteriorated.
