Mumbai: After Indian sports icons boxer Mary Com, cricketer Mahinder Singh Dhoni and shuttler Saina Nehwal, Bollywood will roll out a biopic on chess grandmaster Viswanathan Anand to be directed by filmmaker Aanand L. Rai.
In a tweet, trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh on Sunday said, ”BIOPIC ON VISWANATHAN ANAND… A biopic on #Indian chess grandmaster #ViswanathanAnand has been planned… The yet-untitled biopic will be directed by Aanand L. Rai… Produced by Sundial Entertainment [Mahaveer Jain] and Colour Yellow Productions (Aanand L. Rai).”
But, the actor to play the role of the grandmaster has not been finalized in the untitled film. However, Adarsh’s tweet triggered a suggestion of a host of actors who would be suitable for the screen character of Viswanathan Anand.
While a user suggested Abhishek Bachchan as “juniorbachchan looks like Vishy,” another voted for the “Scam 1992” actor Pratik Gandhi.
Similarly, Gulshan Devaiah, R. Madhavan, and Dhanush were other preferred names of the users.
The five-time world champion, Viswanathan Anand celebrated his 51st birthday on December 11.
