Now, Controversial Priest Narsinghanand Exhorts Hindus To Pick Up Arms

New Delhi: The controversial Yati Narsinghanand is at it again.

The head priest of Ghaziabad’s Dasna Devi Temple, an accused in the Haridwar hate speech case, on Sunday exhorted Hindus to pick up arms, The Indian Express reported.

Narsinghanand, who was arrested in mid-January and got bail a month later, said that if India were to get a Muslim Prime Minister, 50% of Hindus will change their faith “in the next 20 years”.

Addressing a crowd of around 200 people in a ‘Hindu mahapanchayat’, Narsinghanand said that “40% Hindus will be killed” if India were to get a Muslim PM.

“This is the future of Hindus. If you want to change this, be a man (mard bano). What is it to be a man? Someone who is armed,” he said.

Save India Foundation founder Preet Singh – who was also arrested in connection with the Haridwar hate speech case — organized the programme. Delhi Police, however, said that the event was organized without Delhi Police’s permission.

Some journalists alleged they were beaten up by members of the audience, while a few of them alleged they were detained by Delhi Police.

Police, however, denied the charge and said the journalists were provided protection.
