Hyderabad: Taking a cue from Serum Institute of India (SII), Bharat Biotech on Thursday announced reduction in the price of its COVID-19 vaccine.
Covaxin will be available to the states and union territories at Rs 400 per dose from May 1. Hyderabad-based manufacturer of the vaccine had earlier set the price at Rs 600 per dose. There is no change in price for private hospitals, which can acquire the vaccine directly from the manufacturer at Rs 1200 per dose.
On Wednesday, SII lowered the price of Covishield from Rs 400 to Rs 300 per dose for the states. Its price for private hospitals is Rs 600 per dose.
