Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Monday launched e-Police License service to issue permission for marriage functions and funerals in the capital city.
Informing this, Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi said those in twin cities who want to apply for license for organising marriages or funerals can visit the Commissionerate Police website and then go to the link – Apply for Marriage/Funeral License – and fill in the prescribed form.
The application has to be filled at least 72 hours before the programme. The permission will be given to the organiser as well as the invitees through SMS and WhatsApp messages. The invitees can show the permission to commute from their place of stay to venue.
As per the lockdown guidelines issued by Special Relief Commissioner, a maximum of 50 persons are allowed for marriage programmes and 20 for funeral.
The CP said the web-based applicable is currently available for functions in Bhubaneswar UPD jurisdiction only. The facility will be launched for Cuttack UPD soon.
The CP had earlier issued a WhatsApp No. 8144207100 for inquiries.
The web-based solution has been developed by the Commissionerate Police in association with Oasys Tech Solution.
