New Delhi: Two days after cancelling the UGC-NET exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday evening announced the postponement of CSIR-UGC NET test, which was scheduled to be conducted next week.
The CSIR-UGC NET exam, scheduled to take place from June 25, has been postponed due to “unavoidable circumstances”, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said on Friday.
“The candidates are hereby informed that the Joint CSIR-UGC-NET Examination June 2024, which was scheduled to be held between 25.06.2024 and 27.06.2024, is being postponed due to unavoidable circumstances as well as logistic issues,” NTA said in a statement.
The revised schedule for the conduct of this examination will be announced later through the official website https://csirnet.nta.ac.in, NTA added.
The NTA and Union Education ministry are under fire, facing flak across the country in the wake of the NEET-UG row.
To add to their woes, the UGC-NET exam was cancelled a day after it was conducted, with NTA saying that the “integrity of the examination” may have been “compromised.”
Now, the CSIR-UGC NET has been postponed indefinitely.
Both UGC-NET and CSIR-UGC NET exams are conducted to shortlist candidates for the post of Assistant Professor and award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs).
However, the exams are different in terms of applicability, exam subjects, eligibility criteria, exam pattern and other aspects.
