Chandigarh: While the haunting incident, in which a pregnant elephant lost its life after being fed with a firecrackers-filled pineapple, is still fresh, another disturbing video of a pregnant cow injured after being fed with firecrackers-laden food is doing the rounds on social media.
In the video, the cow is seen in a painful condition with blood oozing from her mouth. According to sources, the cow had consumed wheat flour that had firecrackers in it, following which her mouth was blown off.
“An allu bomb kept inside the wheat flour ball was fed to the animal. It went off in its mouth when chewed,” a police officer told Indian Express.
The incident took place on May 26 in Jandutta area of Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
Meanwhile, the owner of the cow has alleged that his neighbour gave the firecrackers-laden wheat flour ball to his cow. The accused wanted to kill the cow as it had destroyed their crops, alleged sources.
