Mumbai: Urfi Javed has often made heads turn with the way she dresses.
But her bold, innovative and often scanty outfits have landed her in trouble vis-à-vis Mumbai Police.
The TV actress and social media influencer was asked to appear at Amboli police station for questioning on Saturday after BJP leader and Maharashtra Mahila Morcha president Chitra Wagh complained against for “indulging in nudity publicly on the streets of Mumbai.”
The statement came after Mumbai Police had sent a notice to Bigg Boss fame on BJP leader and Maharashtra Mahila Morcha president Chitra Wagh’s complaint for “indulging in nudity publicly on the streets of Mumbai.”
Urfi, who participated in Bigg Boss OTT, defended herself by saying that she’s not committing any crime.
“I’m an independent person, I like to shoot and wear a certain dress. It’s not a crime in the constitution. When I step out for such shoots, paparazzi spot me, follow me, click the pictures and it goes viral. I don’t make it viral,” Urfi told police officials.

The BJP leader took to Twitter a few ago and criticised Urfi for her dressing sense, wondering if the women’s commission would do anything about the matter.
“Half-naked women walk openly on the streets. Why is the Women’s Commission itself not taking notice of this? The protest is not against Urfi but against the attitude of walking around openly in public places. And yes… the women’s commission will do anything or not?” Chitra tweeted.
Urfi approached Maharashtra State Commission for Women, alleging that Chitra had made comments against her in public domain, which instigate attacks on her.
Not to be deterred, Chitra then filed a police complaint.
