Nupur Sharma’s Remarks On Prophet: Protests Enter Second Day In West Bengal’s Howrah

Kolkata: Fresh clashes between protesters and police have been reported in West Bengal’s Howrah after the agitation by a group of people on the remarks of suspended BJP leader on Prophet Muhammed turned violent, NDTV reported.
Internet services remain suspended while voice calls and SMS services will remain active, said an order issued by the Home and Hill Affairs Department.
Section 144 of CrPC was imposed at many places in Howrah, West Bengal on Friday. Prohibitory orders have been issued for areas like Uluberia, Panchla, Domjur. Section 144 has been imposed for the next three days. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded that the Indian Army be brought in to control the protesters who are blocking roads and railway tracks.
