Singapore: A nurse has been suspended from service for having sex with a COVID-19 patient in a hospital toilet in Indonesia.
The nurse had removed his PPE suit before becoming inmate with the patient. He has now been put in an isolation ward.
The incident took place at Wisma Atlet quarantine facility located in Jakarta, and it came to light when the patient posted explicit details about the encounter on social media.
WhatsApp screenshots show the nurse’s PPE kit strewn on the floor and intimate recordings. Investigation began after the video went viral, and the nurse has admitted to the act.
The two were tested after the encounter. While the nurse tested negative for COVID-19, the patient was still positive.
COVID-19 spreads through droplets with sexual intercourse or intimacy such as kissing being enough to spread the disease.
