New Delhi: Advisor-cum-Working President of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) Bijaya Kumar Sahoo showcased how the Odisha Government is racing ahead and creating a benchmark in making OAV students aspirational and OAVS a model that could be emulated to build a better India through education at Samagra Shiksha – Empowering India Awards 2020′ held at here on Wednesday.
Sahoo was invited to address on the topic “Accessibility, Affordability and Quality – Can we have it all : How could we build an education ecosystem and are institutions geared up to transform?”
Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ was the chief guest at the event.
Sahoo, in his address, said Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya is the brain child of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and how he puts stress on ‘Accessibility, Affordability and Quality’ through public education system.
The 314 OAVs, set up one in each block of the state, will give an opportunity to every rural, deserving child free and quality education, he added.
According to a press statement, he touched upon the different aspects of quality education and how to make it available to each child, the various issues pertaining to teaching and learning. He suggested measures to bridge the gap between public and private schools and raise the government school standards at par with private schools.
He laid emphasis on infusion of technology into teaching and learning to bring about a remarkable transformation in the government schools.
