Cuttack: Veteran actor Mihir Das, who was put on ventilator support on Thursday, is showing signs of improvement, his son Amlan Das told the media on Friday.
“He has been diabetic for the last 25 years and it affected his kidney. He was diagnosed with kidney-related ailments about three years ago and has been under medication since then,” he said.
Amlan further said that sedative has been administered to him and dialysis is on. The veteran actor is admitted to Aswini hospital in the city on December 7.
“We seek the blessings of the people for his speedy recovery,” he added.
Das was rushed to the hospital after his health condition became critical. “His condition was a little bit worrisome at the time of admission. What I understood from the discussion with the doctors’ team attending to him is that he is responding well to treatment,” said Odisha Cine Artists Association secretary Sritam Das.
Dr Somraj Ghosh of the hospital, however, said he is a chronic kidney patient. “He was admitted to the facility about one and a half months ago for kidney-related ailments. This time, he suffered a cardiac arrest. Though he could be revived, his lungs, heart and kidney have been affected,” he added.
