Odia Actor Pintu Nanda Breathes His Last At Pvt Hospital In Hyderabad
Bhubaneswar: Popular actor from Odisha Pintu Nanda breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Wednesday night. He was 47.
The actor was shifted to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad from Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in New Delhi, for better treatment last week. He was diagnosed with ‘Acute On Chronic Liver Failure’ there and advised to undergo liver transplantation.
Stating that he needed blessings of everyone, fellow actor Sritam Das tweeted that his condition continued to remain critical last afternoon. A family member was supposed to donate liver to Nanda, but that did not work out due to mismatch of blood group and various other reasons and he passed away during treatment at the hospital around 11:25pm.
Nanda made his debut in Ollywood with ‘Koili’ in 1996 and won hearts with his performance in ‘Randi Pua Ananta’ aired on DD. He acted in over 70 movies and won State Film Award as Best Comedian in ‘Wrong Number’ (2002).
He delivered his most memorable performance in Sabyasachi Mohapatra-directed ‘Jai Jagannatha’, in which he essayed the role of Lord Balarama. His other movies include ‘Prema Rutu Aslilare’ (2006), ‘Dosti’ (2011), ‘Hata Dhari Chalutha’ (2013) and ‘Rumku Jhumana’ (2013). Nanda was also a part of Shailendra Parida`s Katha Deli Matha Chuin (2017).
Odia album number ‘E Gaura Aji Kali Kana Khauchu’ also gave him immense popularity.
