Odia Officer Appointed MD & CEO Of Bank Of India

New Delhi: Atanu Kumar Das has been appointed as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bank of India

Das has been holding the post of Executive Director of the Mumbai-based lender since February 17, 2017.

In November last year, the Banks Board Bureau (BBB) had recommended his name for the post in the state-owner lender. The post of MD & CEO of Bank of India fell vacant on July 1 after Dinabandhu Mohapatra retired.

A native of Odisha, Das did his post graduation in Applied Economics.  He joined the banking industry as an economist in 1994 while pursuing a doctoral degree at IIT, Kharagpur.

During his 23 years stint in banking sector, he has been involved at both policy and operational levels. Before assuming charge as Delhi Regional Head in January 2015, he headed Vijaya Bank’s Lucknow Region for more than three years. He also was posted as Executive Secretary to C&MD for more than 2 years.
