Bhubaneswar: Students of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV), Jhargrahi in Nuapada, – Akankshya Priyadashini Mallik, Manyata Khamari, and Mausumi Panigrahi – have emerged as winners of Odiapreneur Smart Odisha State-Level Hackathon 2.0.
The second prize was bagged by Seema Mahakul, Shikha Patra, and Naveen Mahakul of Panchayat Government Higher Secondary School, Kedopada, Barkote, in Deogarh district, and the third spot by Tapswini Sahu of Sri Chandrasekhar Higher Secondary School, Bantala, in Angul district.
Around 126 participants from 29 districts presented 84 projects on waste management, health & hygiene, social enterprises, agriculture, and disaster management during the two-day event, which concluded at Odisha University of Technology & Research (OUTR), Bhubaneswar, on October 1.
Odiapreneur, Smart Odisha Hackathon 2.0 is a flagship state-level event, jointly organised by Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) and OUTR, under the STARS programme.
“Each one is winner whether you loose or win. More importantly you learned something, and broadened your horizon,” said Director, Higher Secondary Education, Raghuram Iyer.
Chairman, Council of Higher Secondary Education, Ashwini Kumar Mishra said that hackathon leads students in solving various problems of society, and people.
Vice Chancellor of OUTR, Prof Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal said, “I came across new passion and innovative work among students. Those who are successful in life enjoy their work with passion.”
OUTR team comprising experts from various streams scrutinised, shortlisted and evaluated all ideas of the students in two phases for the state-level contest, according to official sources.
