Dharakote: A 25-year-old BSF Jawan died after the motorcycle he was riding collided head-on with a bus at Baradabili under Dharakote police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Kargil Diwas.
The deceased Jawan has been identified as Jitendra Kumar Padhi, a resident of Kusaraba village in the district. The accident took place on Wednesday minutes after he reportedly posted a reel on Instagram, where he can be seen riding a motorcycle and lip-synching to a Bollywood song ‘Channa Mereya’, while on his way to his village from Soroda, sources said.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead.
Padhi was posted in Punjab for the last two year and had come to his village on leave on July 6.
While police detained the bus driver for interrogation, body of Jawan was sent to Aska hospital for postmortem.
Jitendra’s last rite will be conducted at his village on Thursday.
