Odisha: 2,929 Trainees Of Indian Navy & Coast Guard Graduate From INS Chilka

Berhampur: Another batch of students graduated from INS Chilka here on Friday.

The ceremonial Passing Out Parade of 2,929 trainees of Indian Navy and Coast Guard of 02/2021 batch was reviewed by Lt Gen Satinder Singh AVSM, Commandant, Army Air Defence College, Gopalpur.

The passing out parade marked the successful culmination of 21 weeks of their ab-initio training.

Lt Gen Satinder Singh also awarded medals and trophies to meritorious trainees on the occasion. He exhorted the passing out trainees to hone their skills and develop a strong foundation of knowledge, willingness to learn and commitment to excel in their respective careers that lay ahead.

Lunawath Praveen, Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR) , Vikash Kumar Soni, Matric Recruit (MR) from Indian Navy as well as Arun Talan, Navik (General Duty) and Sachin, Navik (Domestic Branch) from Coast Guard were adjudged the best trainees in their respective categories.

A valedictory function was held on January 29 during which a cultural programme was put up that showcased the talents of the trainees.

During the function, winter edition of Ankur, the bilingual trainees’ magazine of INS Chilka, was also released by Commodore NP Pradeep, NOIC Odisha and Commanding Officer, INS Chilka and Bindu Pradeep, President NWWA, Chilka.

The Champion Division Shield was presented to Shivaji Division during the function.
