Bhubaneswar: Three personnel of the 5th India Reserve Battalion (IRB), arrested in Boudh’s Manmunda area for allegedly possessing 15 kg of cannabis, were dismissed from service on Saturday.
“I would appeal to all our policemen not to get involved in any illegal activity. Three IRB jawans working in Manamunda were sent to jail a few days ago. They have now been dismissed from service,” Boudh SP Rahul Goel said.
Havildar Kunal Singh was found in possession of 5 kg, while the two constables, Trilochan Rana and Nilam Barla, were caught with 7 kg and 3 kg of the contraband, respectively, during a raid at the IRB barracks on March 25. They were deployed in Manmunda for anti-Naxal operations and drug trafficking surveillance.
