Bhubaneswar: A day after allegation of exploitation of newcomers by Odisha film producer Sanjay Nayak alias Tutu Nayak went viral in social media, actress Prakruti Mishra filed a police complaint against him in Mumbai.
As per reports, the Odia film actress has filed the complaint against Tutu Nayak at Dada Bhai Naroji Nagar Police Station in Andheri West of Mumbai. Prakruti has made several allegations including criminal intimidation and defamation against the producer in her complaint.
The police have registered a case against under Sections 500 (punishment for defamation), 504 (intentional insult to provoke) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the sources said.
On Friday, the WhatsApp conversations among actresses Prakruti Mishra, Jasmine Rath and other artists accusing Tutu Nayak of exploiting newcomers went viral.
Earlier, Prakruti had told a local channel that Tutu Nayak lured many newcomers with the false assurance of launching them in movies and several people associated with him ‘exploited’ them.
It is to be noted that earlier this week Prakruti Mishra had leveled casting couch allegations against the film producer saying that after the shooting of a film is over, Nayak always invites the actresses at night. If they deny, he throws them out of the films.
Reacting over this allegation Nayak had threatened to file defamation case against actress Prakruti Mishra, another heroine and a media house over the casting couch allegations leveled against him.
Refuting the allegations, the producer said two or three girls planned to defame me and accordingly indulged in such chats. “The allegations are coming from people who have contributed little to the industry. It is a conspiracy against me. I would produce proof about the conspiracy and take legal action against them,” he said.
