Bhubaneswar: Soon after the successful anti-Maoist operation in Chhattisgarh in which Odisha’s SOG played an important role, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi increased the special risk allowance for the jawans from Rs 8,000 to Rs 25,000.
Maoist Central Committee member Jai Ram alias Chalpathy, who carried an Rs 1 crore bounty, was among the 16 Maoists gunned down in a fierce encounter during the joint operation by Chhattisgarh’s District Reserve Guards, CRPF, CoBRA, and Odisha’s Special Operation Group (SOG) on Tuesday.
The CM appreciated their achievement and wished them well. He further stated that the Odisha government would intensify its campaign against the Maoists in the coming days.
